Luján Statement on Anniversary of 9/11 Terrorist Attacks
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement on the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001:
“The heinous terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001, forever changed our nation. The innocent lives that were lost will never be forgotten – nor will the bravery and sacrifice of our first responders and bystanders who rushed to the scenes to save lives. It’s that courage and selflessness that defines the enduring American spirit.
“As a nation, together and always, we come together to honor those who were taken from us and recognize the thousands of Americans who answered the call to serve in the aftermath of 9/11. Even in the hardest and darkest moments in history, Americans will always respond with strength and unity.
“We will never forget.”
