Luján Votes to Confirm Linda Thomas-Greenfield as Ambassador to the United Nations

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement after voting to confirm Linda Thomas-Greenfield as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations:

“As the United States takes on the global challenges of COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, now is the time to have a seasoned diplomat representing the U.S. in the United Nations. Americans deserve a leader who will restore America’s leadership and credibility in the world.

“Linda Thomas-Greenfield is a veteran of the foreign service who is respected on both sides of the aisle and among her colleagues in the diplomatic corps. I voted to confirm her as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and I look forward to seeing diplomacy in action again when she takes her seat at the UN.”
